Average Cost of Dental Implants
Dental implants have been recognized as the most natural looking and working solution for replacement teeth. The reasons for desiring new teeth are many, but the most common are increased confidence and regained ability to chew comfortably. That leaves only practical considerations such as what is involved in the process and of course- “How much do dental implants cost?”
The cost varies greatly, as do the dental situations of patients who desire new teeth. Dental implants are an investment in your long-term oral health and lifestyle, so we hope to provide you with information about the average costs and what affects the cost, so that you can make an informed decision.

The National Average Cost of Dental Implants
We compiled this information from a variety of sources such as The American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), The American Dental Association (ADA), and dental industry reports and practice benchmarks (e.g., from Delta Dental, Web-MD, and the Journal of Oral Implantology). According to these sources, the average U.S. cost of a single dental implant ranges from $3,000 to $5,000. This includes all materials and services- the implant post (surgically placed in the jaw), the abutment (a connector between the post and crown), and the dental crown (the visible tooth). These prices are in line with what we see at My Dental Implant Center and that price varies, of course, based on several factors.
What Factors Affect the Cost of Dental Implants?
What’s Included in the Price of Dental Implants?
Not all implant centers are the same. What’s included in the price of dental implants is the number one question that we are asked.
At My Dental Implant Center in Mesa, AZ, we competitively price our implants while putting trust, material quality, and long-term results first and foremost. That’s why our implants have a 98% success rate. Our implants are sourced locally and zirconia teeth are made in the USA, backed by our lifetime guarantee.
We offer package pricing. We don’t do à la carte or nickel-and-dime our patients. We consider everything that needs to be accomplished within your case, give you one all-inclusive fee with no hidden costs, and take care of everything.
Here’s what that fee includes:
Why Does One Package Price Matter?
Package pricing protects you from any unhappy financial surprises. For example, on rare occasions, once we’re already into a procedure, something looks different than it did on the scans. When that happens, we might conclude, ‘This could actually use an extra implant.’ If we feel it’s needed, we’ll go ahead and place that extra implant, at no additional charge.
We believe in pricing transparency and that a patient making a financial and health decision like this should know the full investment before they commit to treatment and move forward.
There would be nothing worse to us than having a patient wake up from sedation, only to tell them that they needed a couple of extra implants, we added some bone grafts, and that it’s now going to cost much more than originally quoted.
Are Extractions, Bone Grafting and Sinus Lifts Included?
Yes, if they’re needed. Bone grafting rebuilds bone where it’s too thin to hold an implant, and a sinus lift adds bone to the upper jaw so the implants have a secure base. Your temporary teeth and your final permanent teeth are included too. It’s all one package price.
Why Are Custom Surgical Guides Included?
Custom surgical guides are really important when it comes to dental implants, and not every practice uses them. A surgical guide is built from 3D imaging and mapping, and it allows the implant surgeon to place the implants with precision: exactly how deep, at what diameter, in what position and at what angle.
Some low-cost implant centers cut their costs by not making surgical guides. Without one, the surgeon has to get in there, open you up, and ‘figure it out’ as they go.
We feel that utilizing surgical guides is simply best practice. They’re best for the patient, best for a faster recovery and best for implant success rates.
What Is PRP, and Why Is It Included?
PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. It’s a concentrate of your own platelets, which carry growth factors that help support healing. We draw a small amount of the patient’s blood and spin it in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. Then we place that platelet-rich plasma into the implant site while we’re preparing it for the implant.
Because we’ve placed your own healing material into that site, this assists healing the area as soon as the implant is placed. That’s part of the quality-of-care standards we have for our patients, and it’s included in the price.
Are the Implants, Parts and Planning Included?
Yes, everything is included. It’s also worth noting that everybody’s anatomy is a little different, so everybody needs a unique set of implants and abutments, the connectors that attach your new teeth to the implants.
It’s not one size fits all. Angulation and many other factors come into play.
All of the planning software we use is included too, along with all of the digital imaging and photogrammetry, a camera-based scan that precisely measures where your implants sit. That way, when we place the implants and the teeth, you have teeth that fit precisely and a bite that feels natural.
What Sedation Options Are Included?
Sedation is included, and it’s up to you which form you use. We’ll make our recommendation based on your case. We have three sedation options to choose from. They are:
We have a licensed anesthesiologist who is dedicated to sedation during your procedure. That way, our implant surgeon can focus on placing the implants, and the anesthesiologist can focus on administering the anesthesia while checking your vital signs. There’s no division in the attention that’s given to your case.
Do I Get Teeth the Same Day?
Yes, in almost all of our patient cases teeth are delivered the same day. Your same-day temporary teeth are included and are delivered the same day as your procedure. That’s an important distinction, because a lot of very well-known national centers will actually send you home without teeth.
Waking up, looking at yourself in the mirror and not having anything in your mouth can be a very scary feeling. The physical feeling of it can be quite uncomfortable too, especially right after surgery, when you have stitches and open areas in your mouth.
Our same-day temporary teeth are an acrylic set attached to your implants. As soon as our patient wakes up from their procedure, they can see their new teeth for the very first time. Those smile reveals are memorable moments that we like to capture.
It’s a really special moment, especially for patients who walked in with damaged, severely decayed or non-restorable teeth that they’ve struggled with for years. And about three and a half hours after coming in, they have a brand-new, beautiful smile. Within a couple of days, they can start eating semi-solid foods.
Once your implants have fully healed, which is usually after a few months, we replace your temporaries with your final, permanent teeth.
Are Temporary Repairs and Revisions Included?
Yes, and there’s no limit. That’s very unusual in the industry. Oftentimes you’re limited to only one or two reprints. For example, if you bit into something unexpected and cracked your temporary teeth, you would normally be charged extra to have a revision printed and reattached in your mouth at most implant centers.
We don’t do that. We realize life happens, and we’re here to support you through that and through the transition. We’ll make as many reprints and revisions to your temporary teeth as you want, until you’re really happy with your smile.
Once you’ve reached your dream smile goals, we create the final teeth in zirconia. That’s exciting and important, because you don’t really know what you want in your permanent teeth until you’ve lived with the temporaries for a little bit. Here’s how zirconia vs. acrylic teeth compare.
What’s Covered After Surgery?
We include a StellaLife Healing Kit, which is an oral rinse that helps support a smooth recovery. We also include all of your follow-up and healing visits.
If a complication or emergency related to your implants comes up during healing, we’ll take care of it at no additional cost. And once you are healed and ready, your final zirconia teeth are included as well.
What Is the My Dental Lifetime Guarantee?
Your zirconia teeth are backed by the My Dental Lifetime Guarantee.
We can offer the Lifetime Guarantee because we are so confident in the quality of our craftsmanship and our results, with thousands of implants placed and a 98% implant success rate. Your teeth are handcrafted in the USA, so nothing that we use in a patient’s mouth comes from China, and we take a lot of pride in that.
Why Do Costs Go Up at Other Offices?
Prices do not increase in our office because we have fixed package pricing. We have seen this in other offices, including nationally recognized ones. Typically, the price jumps come down to issues with the implant placement.
Here’s an example of how this might happen. Let’s say the surgeon didn’t use a surgical guide, like the one we include that allows us to be extremely precise. They go in, start the procedure, and then they see a very different scenario than they had planned for. By not using the surgical guide, it’s like the doctor is performing blindfolded.
That’s essentially how price increases occur. The surgeon decides the placement isn’t good and an implant needs to move. Or they thought they needed only four implants, but need one more, so they place a fifth just to make sure and add a bone graft in that area. A lot can happen during a procedure, and it can cost thousands of dollars.
And it’s important to note, results and success rates really matter with implants because no one wants to pay for something 2 or 3 times. Not only would that cost a lot of money, it would also require additional healing, and cost a lot of time.
That’s why we go through the planning steps that we do. We invest in the latest and greatest technology so we have the most information available to plan the procedure before we sedate a patient. You can only be sedated for so long and stay within a safe threshold, and the last place you want to be making adjustments is during the procedure. It’s also why a $999 implant ad costs more than it first appears.
Can I See an Itemized Price?
Yes. It’s totally up to you how you receive the pricing breakdown. It can be itemized or listed as just one package price.
Some patients might get overwhelmed by the amount of detail in an itemized breakdown, so one final price works best for them.
Some people like all the details and others don’t. It’s no problem on our end to provide it however the patient prefers. If you’re comparing offices, bring these questions to ask before accepting dental implant treatment.
Does Insurance Cover Dental Implants?
Traditional dental insurance does not usually cover the full cost of implants, but may help pay for certain components, like crowns or extractions. Additionally, some medical insurance plans might contribute if the procedure is deemed medically necessary.
At My Dental Implant Center, we offer free insurance verification and flexible payment plans to help make implants more affordable. On top of that, all zirconia teeth are guaranteed for life, making your investment a sound one.

Is It Worth the Investment?
Though dental implants can seem costly upfront, they are a long-term solution that can last a lifetime with proper care. Unlike bridges or dentures, implants preserve jawbone health, don’t slip or move, and feel just like natural teeth.
Many of our patients find that the comfort, confidence, and improved quality of life make the investment more than worthwhile.
